About the Organization:Mahavir Sikshan Sansthan MAHAVIR SIKSHAN SANSTHAN is a registered,No.949, Society Registration act 21,1860 working for last 3 years, non-government; secular, non-political, non-profiting making grassroots rural development organization managed by the community leaders themselves through a democratic process. It operates a hospital at Kanpur & development programs in periurban in kanpur district with various programs for the children, adolescents, women and farm and non-farm families with a holistic approach of development in agriculture, education,health etc The communities Mahavir Sikshan Sansthan works with are the poorest of the poor,BPL,minorities and Dalits. The organization has started its activities in the year 2012 covering 20,000 population at the initial stage. Later the activities extended throughout the District through nutritional intervention of the children and health related interventions for the Adolescents and mothers.
Mahavir Shikshan sansthan is Working with Jain hospital for treatment and Management of BPL and Periurban Slum Antenatal and other Patients specially helping in detection and treatment of Gestational Diabetes and Diabetes Patients..
Organization is training Unskilled health care Professionals like Ward boy, Bed Assistant,Nurse,Assistant,Genatorial,Social Worker,X Ray assistant,Receptionist for Nursing home,Counsellor for Patients,Aya,Pharmacist Assistant,Physician assistant,Nursing assistant for lst 3 years under BSS and PMSKY

Profile of the Area: Legally whole India but at present active in Kanpur and state level in Uttar Pradesh.We are Expanding our Work in backward Districts of Bundelkhand area of Uttar Pradesh from 2016 onward.
(i) Health & Sanitation:
A. R.C.H Programme organized for counseling of pregnant women . Through camps and mass counseling on ANC, PNC, Routine Immunization and Importance of Breast Feeding informed to the women. Early registration increased up to 69% from 49.39%. Institutional delivery increased up to 76% from 45%. Infant mortality rate decreased to 12/1000 from 19/1000. Total 32 Session adolescent counseling was conducted wherein 1714 adolescents have counseled on hygiene, nutrition, life skill and reproductive health. 45% (2358 out of 5241) adolescents sensitized and aware from 32% (1585 out of 4953).

(ii) Nutrition interventions through Positive Deliverance:
A. 573 PD sessions conducted, 1038 mothers and children participated and learned about health and hygiene as well as cooking nutritious food from local available foods.
B. 1089 children promoted from a lower grade to higher grade.
(iii) Basic Education:
A. Education intervention: 4 gov primary schools where in 1845 children improved their reading skills.

Mahavir Sikshan sansthan is working with Jain hospital for technical support in Area of RCH and Non Communicable disease awareness,CME for Doctors,ASHA and Govt Staff nurse to Technically Upgrade them through Education,Research and communication.
Jain hospital was established on Jan, 2007 by Dr Rachna Jain, MBBS, DGO & Dr Rajesh Jain MD(Community Medicine) in Periphery of Kanpur district at Ramadevi chauraha to cater the need of specially periurban & rural community.This Hospital is recognized By Govt of UP under National rural health mission, a project of national importance, All the deliveries & other associated complication with this are carried in this hospital free of cost for BPL( below poverty line) families.
This hospital is 50 beded and expandable to 60 beded with all facilities & round the clock emergencies with two specialist and Resident doctor available 24 hrs.We have all facility like ultrasound,pathology,X ray machine,Pharmacy,ambulance 24 hrs,2 duty doctors in day & night etc.
We have started Mobile Medical Van health clinics in remote areas and connecting them with secondary & referal level health facilities under telemedicine project. To make our dreams as reality we need help from the masses so that affordable medicine can be made available to patient in need specialy the people who need them most.
Jain Hospital is running following Scheme for poor Patients specially BPL(Below Poorty line) in Community of covering 10 lakh population.
